More Success for Isca Academy Sports Teams
Year 7 Boys Overwhelm Exmouth in the National Cup
The Year 7 boys have been in action for the first time this year taking on Exmouth Community College, at home, in the first round of the National Cup. The boys played brilliantly considering it was their first time playing together and with some fantastic interlinking play from all players involved, Isca took an early lead. The second half proved to be even stronger with Isca continuing to score with goals from Ryan G who scored 4 goals and played extremely well to also gain the Player of the Match award. The final score was a brilliant 9-4 win for Isca Academy. Great start year 7.
The Year 7’s played again this week, this time away to Uffculme School. With this being the second game in as many days a squad rotation allowed several other player to show their skills in what was a highly contested first half. In the end Uffculme were too strong on this occasion winning 5-2. Plenty of positives from the Isca boys and definitely a team to watch out for.
Year 11’s start their National Cup Campaign with a big WIN!
The Year 11’s travelled to Stover School in their opening game of the 2016-17 National Schools cup. After being knocked out in the early stages last year the boys were keen to get off to a winning start. The Year 11’s played very well together with Jude B taking the team to victory with 4 goals to Stover’s nil.
Year 8 Footballers take on Kings School in Round 2 of the National Cup

Year 8’s were back out in action this week playing in the second round, at home, to King’s. The boys started very strong and scored two early goals. King’s however were not out of the game yet though as soon responded with a goal, followed by another to take it to 2-2. During the second half Kings proved to be the stronger side, going on to score and win the game. Plenty more football to come for the year 8’s over the next few weeks.
Extra-Curricular Clubs
Extra-curricular sport has been booming this term with over 100 pupils involved on most evenings in some form of sport. Girls and boys football has had over 80 to training on Wednesdays. We are very grateful to Mr Davey (Maths) who has volunteered to take on a team with the numbers growing on a weekly basis. Trampolining, netball and basketball have also been very busy and rugby club numbers for boys and girls are also starting to rise. Excellent work Isca Academy!
