Exam Results 2019

Students and staff at Isca Academy are celebrating our GCSE results today, where many students have achieved the top grade 9 in more than one subject, with many strong individual results.
However, the true measure of success for us is when all of our students are able to progress into further education, employment or training and this summer’s results will enable them to access a wide range of career paths and further areas of study. Examples include; Sean Laws who will go on to study Level 3 Aeronautical Engineering, Meghan Simmons undertaking a bricklaying apprenticeship, Joli Knowles studying A Level Geography, English Language and Media at Exeter College, Callum Willis undertaking a Level 2 Carpentry Apprenticeship and Jenna Groves to study A Levels in History, Law and Sociology to name but a few.
Our highest performing student, Margaret Johncock achieved 8 grade 9’s, 2 grade 8’s and a Level 2 Distinction. Jago Goodband achieved 4 grade 9’s, 4 grade 8’s, 1 grade 7 and 1 grade 6. Richard Benney achieved 4 grade 9’s, 1 grade 8, 3 grade 7’s 1 grade 6 and a Level 2 Distinction. Jess Hadfield achieved 4 grade 9’s, 3 grade 8’s, 2 grade 7’s and a grade 6. Achieving the top grades is incredibly tough, so we are very proud of our student’s achievements.

Results this summer were particularly strong in the Separate Sciences where 94% of students achieved a strong pass (grades 5-9). French, Geography, Catering and Photography all saw over 60% of students achieving a strong pass (5-9) with all students making national progress.

Aimee Mitchell, Headteacher says "We are incredibly proud of all of our students who can now leave Isca Academy with not only fantastic results but with secure plans for the next step of their educational journey and a wealth of skills and attributes that equip them well for future success. Well done!"
