2018 GCSE Results

Students and staff at Isca Academy are celebrating some fantastic individual results this year with many of our students achieving the new grade 9 in more than one subject. Our highest performing student Roxanne Henshaw achieved 6 grade 9’s, 3 grade 8’s and 2 grade 7’s. Lottie Olney achieved 1 grade 9, 6 grade 8’s and 3 grade 7’s. Mikolaj Pawelczyk achieved 4 grade 9’s, 2 grade 8’s and 4 grade 7’s. Jacob Weekes achieved 1 grade 9, 2 grade 8’s, 5 grade 7’s and a grade 6. The new tougher system is predicted to mean that fewer students will achieve the top grades so we are incredibly proud of our student’s achievements.

Results in Languages, Science and Performing Arts were particularly strong, with 86.7% of students picking up a standard pass in French and 76.5% in Spanish and on average all Science subjects achieved over 85% grades 4-9. In Performing Arts subjects, which includes Dance, Drama and Music, 19 students achieved a Distinction or above with 10 students achieving a Distinction*.

Aimee Mitchell, Headteacher says, "We are incredibly proud of all of our students who leave Isca Academy with not only fantastic results but with secure plans for the next step of their educational journey and a wealth of skills and attributes that equip them well for future success. Well done!"
