Exe Valley Challenge
Another amazing Exe Valley Challenge
July 3rd 2016
This was our seventh year running Exeter’s only walking challenge for pupils aged 8 - 12. We had around 500 participants, in 125 teams, from 14 different schools walking the 7 or 10 mile route.
As the teams returned to base there was entertainment on site provided by Starlites Cheerleaders and refreshments were provided by Isca Friends and their amazing cake stall.
Thanks to the army of volunteers (staff, parents and students) who gave up their Sunday to help, and the teachers and parents who trained and supported the children taking part. The success of the event relies on your goodwill and continued support of our goals for which we are immensely grateful.
A big shout out to the teams from all the schools who took part: Bramford Speke, Branscombe, Clyst Heath, Cranbrook, Ide, Isca Academy, Ladysmith, Newtown, Pinhoe, St Leonards, Topsham, Watcombe and Woodwater.
The winning teams were:
Junior mixed – Brampford Speke 6 (Team 138)
Junior girls - Pinhoe 8 (Team 106)
Junior boys – St Leonards 9 (Team 82)
Seniors mixed – Isca Academy 9 (Team 58)
Seniors girls – St Leonards 1 (Team 2)
Seniors boys – St Leonards 6 (Team 41)
Overall winner (joint) Isca mixed & St Leonards 6
The Isca Academy mixed team winners were: Anna Boulton, Eliza Squire, Georgie Rawlings, Faisal Alamah
We are asking that all Sponsorship money from this event be handed in to Isca Academy by the end of September 2016 please. We can then announce the winners of the Sponsorship trophy.
Date for your diaries: The eighth Exe Valley Challenge event will take place on Sunday 2nd July 2017. Team booking details will be released in the new year.
