Outstanding runs at the Devon and South West Cross-Country Championships
After performing brilliantly at in the earlier local round of the cross-country trials, four Isca Academy students made it through to the Devon trials held at Stover School in Newton Abbot: Year 7’s Hazel and Billy, Year 9’s Rio, and Year 11 GCSE PE student, Millie. All of the runners performed very well with exceptional performances from both Billy who finished 3rd  and Rio who finished 6th. Well done also to Hazel who finished 26th and Millie, who narrowly missed out on the final 16 selection finishing in 18th overall.
Billy and Rio went through to the South West England Cross Country Championships where Year 9 Rio finished 7th and and has now been invited to compete at the English Schools Championships in Norwich. Younger brother, Billy, currently in Year 7, finished 6th overall in the South West England Champs. This is as far as the Year 7 competition goes, and we will look forward to next year when he will compete in the older U14 category. Well done to both and good luck to Rio at the Nationals.

Isca Academy Inter-House Sport
Isca Academy’s four houses set to battle yet again, this term competing in Dodgeball, Benchball and a series of Fitness challenges. Competition was fun but fierce, particularly in the dodgeball. There were some fantastic individual and team contributions to the Fitness Challenges.  The overall winners were Minerva on this occasion, adding valuable points to the overall scores, all to be revealed at the end of the year in anticipation of winning the House Sport Cup.Results can be viewed here:  assets/Documents/Jan%20Interhouse%20results.pdf

The boys played very well considering we were missing several players due to injuries. The team did not manage to win the tournament and progress to the final this time; however, some fantastic futsal was played throughout the evening.
