Special Educational Needs

Isca Academy is an inclusive and friendly environment.  We believe in ensuring access to education for all and always work with due regard to the Special Educational Needs Code of Practice, can be found here.
The department works with a flexible approach.  We work hard to provide a personalised curriculum and interventions to meet any needs that a pupil may have.
There are over 650 children in our school, all of whom are unique.  Our school prides itself on its inclusive approach to education and we are always working to develop what we do.  Well managed change is crucial to remain effective.
We always welcome visits from prospective parents, or parents of students already with us.  You are also welcome to bring someone with you on these visits, if you would like support. Visits can be organised by contacting the SENCO, Greg Ireland via the main Isca number.

Our Special Educational Needs and Inclusion Policy is downloadable below. Please note that this is currently under review by the Governing body and therefore subject to change. Any questions regarding this should be directed to Ali Moxey, Assistant Headteacher.

For further details about accessing support and help for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities, please see the Devon SEND website where full details of the local offer are located.
