An introduction from our new Headteacher
Firstly I would like to say how delighted I am to have been appointed as the Headteacher of Isca Academy. I was certain from my very first visit to the Academy that Isca Academy was the right choice for me as Headteacher. It is an exciting, welcoming place where student learning, creativity and personal development are at the heart.
I am joining Isca Academy as its new Headteacher with a breadth of experience, having spent five years as Vice Principal at Tavistock College contributing to the journey from Special Measures to Good. Previous to this I worked at Lipson Cooperative Academy in Plymouth for 11 years with 7 years as an Assistant Principal.
As Headteacher I am passionate about providing high quality education for the young people of our community which is tailored to meet the needs of each and every child. I am also committed to providing inclusive education with an equality of opportunity for all. I have the highest expectations of all the staff and students and it is my intention that by working together, we can continue to raise standards at Isca with the ultimate aim of making sure that every young person has a clear progression route and is able to succeed both at the Academy and beyond.
As parents or guardians you know your children and are experts in meeting their needs. Therefore the relationships between parents, guardians, students and staff are critical and only by working together can we ensure that students at Isca Academy are safe, happy, make good progress and leave us as responsible young people, able to make a valued contribution to society.
At Isca Academy our expectations of the students, in terms of their achievement and behaviour, are very high. We expect all members of our community to uphold the values of respect, tolerance, courtesy and cooperation. Your support in reinforcing our high expectations is very much appreciated and I look forward to meeting you all in due course over the coming months.
