Welcome to Isca

ISCA IS PLEASED TO REPORT ANOTHER SET OF RECORD GCSE RESULTS. Initial analysis shows that at least 61% of pupils have achieved grade C or above in both English and Mathematics. Most of our students have achieved or exceeded their expected grades. Our most able students achieved A and A* grades in all GCSE subjects. This will enable them to access the Exeter College REACH Academy. Our highest attaining student achieved 11 GCSE’s at A* grade!

As a school we are celebrating outstanding progress in English with more than 81% of our students reaching or exceeding their predicted targets with 25 students achieving an A or A* in English Language and 38 achieving an A or A* in English Literature, this goes against the national trend which has seen top grades in English fall this year. Fantastic results in History, Chemistry, Biology , Physics, Physical Education (PE), Textiles, Art, French and Italian. We are also celebrating outstanding results in Drama with 100% students achieving a pass or higher of which 43% achieved an A* equivalent (Distinction*).

Whilst we are proud of the achievements of all of our students among our highest achievers Martha Liversedge attained 11A* and an A; Tom McShane achieved 7 A*, 5 A’s. Other high performers included Ben Fisk, Olivia Batterbee, Marisa Clements, Denis Akkavim and Jade Webb all of whom achieved 11 A* or A grades and Sarah Hawes, Harlon Baro, Maddie Dugdale, Alex Zawalnyski and Rosie McGeorge achieved 10 A* or A grades amongst their qualifications. We are also delighted that 40% of our students who have Special Educational Needs Statements achieved 5 A* to C including English and Mathematics.

We at Isca are proud that this set of results shows we are equipping our students for their future careers academically and creatively alongside our rich programme of extra- curricular activity and outdoor education such as Ten Tors, Exmoor Challenge, Exe Valley Challenge. This rounded approach equips our students not only as learners but also with the life skills to achieve in an ever changing world.

As we move towards the beginning of the new academic year the exceptional results of our departing students sets an ever increasing standard of high achievement and academic performance for the Isca community. We look forward to welcoming back the Isca students including our new Year 7’s on the 4th September at 8.45am, setting them on their pathway of personal and academic achievement.
